THE GUN HAS NICE METAL & MARKINGS WHICH IS SHOWING LIGHT WEAR. ALL OF THE METAL ON THE GUN HAS A NATURAL DARK PATINA ON IT. THE WOOD IS FINE WITH A DARK GRAIN. IT HAS A CLEAR U.S. INSPECTORS CARTOUCHE ON THE BACKSIDE. THE GUN HAS A VERY GOOD BORE & NICE ACTION. THIS IS A NICE EXAMPLE OF A SPENCER CARBINE THAT WAS USED BOTH IN THE CIVIL WAR & INDIAN WARS!

THE GUN HAS NICE METAL & MARKINGS. U.S. MARKED & PROOFED ON THE BARREL AND BUTT PLATE. ALL OF THE METAL ON THE GUN HAS A NICE DARK NATURAL PATINA ON IT. IT HAS THE HINGED RAMROD COVER ON THE FOREND. THE WOOD IS NICE WITH A VERY OLD REPAIR ON THE EDGE OF THE REAR TANG. THE GUN HAS A VERY GOOD ACTION & GOOD BORE. THESE EARLY SECOND MODEL CARBINES ARE VERY SOUGHT AFTER & DIFFICULT TO FIND. EXCELLENT METAL & GOOD MARKINGS WITH THE PATENT DATES ON THE TOP FLAT BEING LIGHT FROM BEING REFURBISHED AT THE SPRINGFIELD ARMORY. THIS IS OFTEN SEEN ON THESE SPRINGFIELD SPENCER CARBINES. THERE IS AN UNUSUAL "US" STAMPED ON THE BARREL & RECEIVER. THE GUN HAS EXCELLENT BLUE ON THE BARREL WITH SLIGHT THINNING. THE RECEIVER, LOCK, HAMMER, & BUTT PLATE RETAIN MOST OF THEIR ORIGINAL CASE COLORS. FINE PLUS WOOD & EDGES WITH AN EXCELLENT U.S. SPRINGFIELD ARSENAL INSPECTOR'S CARTOUCHE ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE STOCK. THERE IS A "VP" STAMPED BEHIND THE INSPECTOR'S CARTOUCHE ON THE WOOD. THE GUN HAS AN EXCELLENT PLUS BRIGHT BORE & ACTION.
